Friend leaks viral video, stabs victim in Hooghly following heated dispute

A man was critically injured in Pandua, Hooghly district, after being stabbed by his friend following a dispute over a viral video. The incident occurred on Friday evening near a fast food stall run by the accused, identified as Raja. The victim, Mizanur, had earlier recorded a video by submerging his phone in water, which damaged the device. He had requested Raja not to share the clip, but the video was allegedly circulated, leading to repeated arguments between the two.

According to local sources, the dispute escalated when Mizanur went to speak with Raja at his stall. During the confrontation, Raja allegedly took out a knife and attacked Mizanur, stabbing him multiple times. Onlookers rushed Mizanur to Pandua Hospital in a critical condition. His injuries were reported to be serious, and medical treatment was underway at the time of reporting.

Police reached the spot soon after the attack and have initiated an investigation. The accused, Raja, is currently absconding. Officers are examining CCTV footage from the area and have started questioning witnesses to determine the sequence of events. No arrests had been made till the latest update.
